Location is always the topic of consideration for any type of long term care Lansing. Beechtree Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing is located on a tree-lined street in a residential neighborhood of downtown Ithaca, New York. Once known as the Reconstruction Home, we opened back in 1920 as a home that housed children who were struck with the illness polio. However after the vaccine was discovered in 1954, the Home started to focus on a transitioning to the care of those who were in need of nursing or rehabilitation caused by disabilities. Soon after, we evolved into a long-term care site for the growing elderly population in our and the surrounding communities.
Today, housing up to 120 beds, Beechtree Center has the “quality of life” attitude to insure our elderly residents that they will be well taken care of and provided for while living with us. With the mind set of Long Term Care–Lansing our facility offers both semi- private and private accommodations. Each room comes equipped with complimentary cable TV service. Residents are able to set up and receive phone services through Verizon.
The Semi-private rooms have an adjoining bathroom and our private rooms have their own private bathroom. Although it is not mandatory, anyone who will be joining our family will be encouraged to bring their own personal furnishings, plants and decorations to add their own personal touch and to make it feel more like home.
If preferred, we do offer furnished rooms with a comfortable bed, a personal wardrobe and dresser. Be mindful though, on the day of admission there will be paperwork to complete with our Business Office as well with our social worker. Please anticipate an hour of your time with each department to guarantee no setbacks with admission.
