Recreation Therapy

At Beechtree Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, our Recreation Therapy Department is designed to stimulate the body and mind through a broad range of activities intended to encourage social interaction and promote health and wellness. Every day is alive with a variety of social events and activities. Under the leadership of the Recreation Director and a small team of Recreation Aides augmented by a dedicated team of volunteers from Cornell, Ithaca College and the community; our events calendar is full of meaningful and therapeutic programs.

Local churches provide religious support via weekly services and individual visits.

A professional musical performance is put on each month exploring a wide range of different styles and genres

Residents look forward to seasonal events such as holiday parties, semi-formal dances, and our summertime barbecues.

Beechtree Center appreciates and values the opinions of our residents when it comes to their care and stay at our facility. The residents of the facility can choose to participate in the Resident Council which holds monthly meetings. Through the Resident Council residents can make recommendations and voice their opinions for preferred recreational programs, wanted operational improvements and any other concern or idea they have for the facility.

(times and locations of above special events can be found in the events calendar found under “events” on the homepage)
